ROZUGUS is used to treat high cholesterol and triglycerides, and to prevent cardio-vascular diseases.
ROZUGUS provides rosuvastatin which is an antilipemic agent that blocks an enzyme in the liver thereby limiting biosynthesis of cholesterol. It belongs to the family of "statins" medications that reduce blood cholesterol levels, hence preventing cardiovascular diseases.
It is to be taken by mouth, usually once each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet with water. Try and follow the same time each day. The dosage can differ from one patient to another.
The common side-effects are Muscle pain, Headache, Constipation, Abdominal pain,Troubled sleep
Higher doses may cause Dizziness,Drowsiness

Generally, allergic reactions are rarely reported in the case of ROZUGUS. However, this drug may contain inactive ingredients that may cause you allergies. In addition, ROZUGUS can cause problems if the patient has the following conditions:
To be on the safer side, inform your doctor about your medical history and symptoms of allergic reactions, if any.
Blood thinners like warfarin, and gemfibrozil may interact with ROZUGUS.
Some medications like ledipasvir affect the removal of ROZUGUS from the body, hence, affecting its effectiveness.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Else, skip the dose and resume with the usual schedule. Doubling of doses is not to be done.
To be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct light and out of the reach of children and pets.
