ORKAS- L is used to treat:
ORKAS- L provides montelukast that blocks leukotriene in the lungs and blocks its actions. This prevents increased mucus production, inflammation and narrowing of the airways. Therefore, it prevents asthma attacks and also asthma triggered by exercise.
The antihistamine levocetirizine relieves watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing and hives. It blocks the histamines produced by the body during an allergic reaction.
Take the medication by mouth before or after your food.
The common side-effects are Cough , Diarrhea, Headache, Indigestion,Sore throat,Stomach pain,Nausea,Runny/stuffy nose,Tiredness,Dry mouth,Scaly/itchy skin
The serious side-effects are
Inform your doctor if you have a history of the following conditions:
ORKAS- L is not to be used to treat asthma in children under two years of age.
This medication is used to treat seasonal allergies in adolescents 15 years and older.
It is not recommended to use this drug while you are pregnant.
Contact your doctor to know if it is safe for you to consume ORKAS- L while breast- feeding.
Avoid using ORKAS- L together with alcohol, muscle relaxants, sleeping pills, narcotic pain relievers and all such drugs that cause drowsiness.
Do not co- administer this medication with anti- histamines applied onto the skin, because it can cause increased side- effects.
ORKAS- L reacts wrongly with hydroxyzine and cetirizine.
This drug might cause false test results for certain laboratory tests like skin allergy tests. Remember to report to the laboratory personnels the usage of ORKAS- L.
Skip the missed dose and continue with the schedule. Do not consume more than a dose within 24 hours. Doubling of doses is strictly discouraged.
Store at room temperature. Keep in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
