WHAT DOES IT TREAT?

WETGUS is a bronchodilator. It treats acute and chronic respiratory diseases associated with an increased mucus production.

MODE OF ACTION

Ambroxol is the active agent in WETGUS. It increases the production of surfactant in the body thereby making the phlegm in the airways lighter. This helps to move out the phlegm easily from the lungs.

Terbutaline is a beta adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscles and aids in the treatment of similar problems of airways.

WETGUS also contains guaiphenesin in small amounts. It increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of secretions in the trachea and bronchi. It helps in the flow of respiratory tract by carrying the secretions to the pharynx. Hence, it increases the efficiency of the cough reflex and facilitates removal of the secretions.
